The Calder Performing Arts Organization (CPAO) is a nonprofit entity that seeks to expand the scope and reach of string quartet repertoire through the following means:
Present the spectrum of string quartet music to the public.
Engaging the public through performances, educational outreach, and recordings.
Mentoring the next generation of young composers and musicians.
Commissioning and performing works by emerging and established composers.
Collaborating with visionaries in other artistic disciplines to further sustain the string quartet art form.
We at the CPAO are passionate about bringing new works to life and sharing our music with new audiences. Previous support of the Calder Performing Arts Organization has enabled us to reach out to children in the Los Angeles area and help to provide them with an experience with the arts that they otherwise might never receive. In order to fulfill this part of our mission, we have partnered with both Inner City Arts on Skid Row and the after school enrichment program, LA’s Best. We also work with high school composers through the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Young Musicians Composer Fellowship Program. We want to continue to do this work. For us to sustain – and even expand – our artistic programs and educational outreach, we need your help. We would be grateful for any donation you can give.
